I have some of these flowers in my back yard, and they usually bloom sometime around late August or early September. They’re called Garden Phlox, and it’s a sign, usually, that summer is winding down.
But when summer starts on St. Patrick’s Day, like it did this year, the flowers all got moved up by six weeks or so. And now, the last blooming flowers of the year are out, and it’s not even August yet. They won’t bloom for any longer than they usually do, I don’t think, so what happens in a week or two when they’ve run their course? I guess we’ll know soon enough.
