It’s nearing the end of the month, and one of the internal races that I have with myself has to do with month-to-month traffic for this blog. Page views are recorded by the day, week, and month, and every month I try to beat what I did the previous month. I call the day this happens my “Beat” day, and today was the April beat day, because I passed March’s totals. So now, over the next six days, I’ll keep adding to this month’s total. That sets the bar for May’s traffic. And on and on and on, for as long as I keep doing this. And I have to point out that the chart above is not real, at least not for this blog.
At the end of every month, I say to myself “I don’t know how I’ll get back to that level again,” and then, somehow, it happens. So for the next six days, I’ll enjoy watching as the monthly number drifts ever upward. Then, once April gives way to May, I’ll start over and try to beat it again. It’s working so far, so why mess with it?
