I spent some time on the phone this morning with Bernadette at LadyAtTheBat. Her knowledge and passion for the game–and for the Yankees–is evident. She has been running her blog for five years, which I know for a fact takes a lot of dedication. She sent me a link to the show, which I’m sharing here.
I enjoyed telling her some stories about the past, doing some analysis of the present, and even speculating about the who might win the National League East this year. For the record, I wrote off the Phillies before handing Washington the division title. We’ll see how I did in a few months’ time.
It was a pleasure to offer some  National League perspective for a Yankees podcast, and I am honored to be among people, like Bernadette, who have a desire and a willingness to share their love for the game with others. I couldn’t have done this for even a year without having that love inside, and her tenure online indicates that she has it, too.
I salute LadyAtTheBat for her service to Yankees fans, and to the game itself. It proves to me that the time-honored tradition of providing commentary about the game, and those who play it, is alive and well here on the internet.
