Whenever you wear a Pink Floyd T-shirt out into public, as I did at the Taste of Chicago last night, you get some comments from people. Even though I was with my daughters at a concert by a band called Fun.–who redeemed themselves by covering the Stones’ ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want”–there were a few who noticed the shirt. And it was our way to distance ourselves from the hit music vibe that filled the air.
So I took my Dark Side of the Moon CD to work with me this morning, and used it to take the edge off a long commute. If there’s a better album, from start to finish, I can’t think of what it is. I can’t hear it without thinking of Dorothy in Oz, but it beats the hell out of anything that Fun. could ever do.
I’ve written about this album many times before, and I doubt this will be the last time I do it, either. Any excuse to link to the music and say a few words about it is just fine with me.
I’m all right, Jack, keep your hands off of my stack…
