For the last of three nights in Perth, Australia (lucky them!), Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band (which now includes Tom Morello on a regular basis) covered AC/DC’s classic “Highway to Hell.”
In case there was ever any doubt, Bruce and his band showed that whatever song it is, they can play it and make it sound amazing. They’re certainly unique in this regard.
Now if only there would be a Chicago date on his U.S. tour this spring. But then hope Spring(steen)s eternal, doesn’t it?
I have seen the E St band do highway to hell before (when I saw the second Fenway show on 2012 I think). As for a Chicago show, he is playing two dates here this summer (a thurs and sat). They are negotiating location Bc the dates overlap one day with a cub home stand that will be starting on a Friday. Crane wants Bruce to play at wrigley so we will see. But either way Bruce will be back again this summer as part of the broader tour to be announced in around 6 weeks.
That’s excellent news. I was bummed when there were no dates in Chicago on the Spring tour just announced, but Summer would be better, anyway. Hope to score some tickets when the time comes.
Thanks very much for reading and commenting. Both are much appreciated. Hope you have a great day.
I also write for ChicagoSideSports.com, and might have a new piece up soon about Ryan Dempster and the Cubs. Check it out, if you’re so inclined.
All the best to you.
